Joining and Membership Information

FOR UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHAMPTON STUDENTS

You will need to pay your annual BAF and club membership through the University of Southampton Aikido Club page on the SUSU website, which can be found at https://www.susu.org/groups/aikido You will need the Student year membership or the Student semester membership 1.

Everyone using University of Southampton sport facilities is required to have Southampton Sport membership, which can be done via https://www.southampton.ac.uk/sportandwellbeing/membership/index.page The specific membership required is the Sports Pass, which is available at no cost for those who are members of a SUSU club.

One aspect of Sports Pass (and other) Southampton Sport memberships is that you can (and indeed should) register for the classes you attend. It’s important for all of us to do this, as this is one of the means that the University uses to track use of its facilities. This can be done via https://joinin.soton.ac.uk/University through the Make a Booking section, going to the Make a Booking tab, scrolling down to Students Union and then finding the A U Aikido session you’re planning to attend.

FOR OTHERS WHO ARE NOT UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHAMPTON STUDENTS

You will need to pay your annual BAF and club membership through the University of Southampton Aikido Club page on the SUSU website, which can be found at https://www.susu.org/groups/aikido You will need the Non-student annual membership. As part of this, you will need to purchase associate membership in SUSU as well, and you will be prompted to do this via this page

Beyond the SUSU and club memberships, you will also need to pay class fees, which are either £5 per class or £25 per month. Please contact Jim Anderson on southampton.aikikai@gmail.com for bank details and any questions on this point.
