Southampton Aikikai

Welcome to the homepage for the Southampton Aikikai, which is made up of the Southampton Shiseikan Aikido Club and the University of Southampton Aikido Club. We are a member of the British Aikido Federation, which is one of the organizations comprising the Joint Aikikai Council.

Our usual class times are Tuesday evenings 18.30 – 20.00 and Friday evenings 17.00 – 18.00. If you are interested in attending a Friday class, please email us, as the Friday class may be cancelled on rare occasion.

CLASS TIMES during March and April 2026: The University’s Easter break runs from 23 March through 20 April, and there will be days in that period when classes do not meet.

Until (and including) Tuesday 31 March, classes will meet Tuesdays and Fridays as normal.

From Tuesday 14 April, classes will meet Tuesdays and Fridays as normal.

All classes takes place in the Martial Arts Studio, Studio 3, in the Jubilee Sport and Recreation Centre (which is Building 18 on the University of Southampton Highfield Campus (click for a map)).

If you’re interested, please come along and give it a whirl. Beginners are always welcome, and all classes are appropriate for beginners.
